I?ve been wanting to paint this for a while now, it is a photo of a family member, taken by his husband, and I just feel that it speaks volumes, it?s peaceful and contemplative but yet also has feelings of loneliness and feeling small and engulfed by everything around him? take what you will from it?&128420?Jason?Oil on canvas50x70cm

This painting was produced in 1996. I always have sung Edith Piaf songs and my inspiration came from her song titled Mon Dieu where she asks God to keep her lover for a little longer before calling him back home. Her expression on this painting could be one she had when making this heartfelt request.

Last month I painted my first 16 x 20 inches watercolor abstract. Now I have painted what I hope is a complimentary artwork. Same size and same theme.I generated a ?reference? image, transferred it to watercolor paper using graphite pencil, and then painted it. Both were prepared on cold pressed Arches paper using Grumbacher Academy paints. They are now displayed in my art room above my computer.I hope you like it!
